As above, so below.

Astrology is way more than “what’s your sun sign.” It’s the archetypal language of energy. Which makes it a powerful tool for radical self-care—and coming home to you.

A purple-hued night sky shows a centaur (half horse, half human) shooting a bow and arrow above a dark tree line.

If you are guided to work with me, you are a lightworker.

My story.

My name is Rebecca. A lawyer by training who spent 15 years as a social justice lawyer and public policy advocate before beginning to sit with clients as a practicing astrologer—I spent decades as something of a skeptic, despite a longstanding curiosity about astrology, and being into tarot and crystals as a teenager (who in the ‘90s wasn't?). The child of two college professors, I also spent decades conditioned to believe my only gifts came from my logical, analytical left brain.

It wasn’t until my mid-30s—amidst a period of burnout, major transition in my own life, and a global pandemic—when I came across historian and archetypal astrologer Richard Tarnas’s work correlating key breakthroughs in social liberation movements with the movements of the outer planets (think: Pluto and Uranus), that I truly began to grasp the meaning of the Hermetic axiom “as above, so below.”

After working with astrology for years now in my own personal and professional life, I’ve come to understand its immense power as a mirror, an energy map, and a calendar all in one. Unpacked, the birth chart—a symbolic map of the heavens at the moment of birth—opens a powerful portal for remembering who you are at a soul level.

As someone who’s spent the better part of my life living with chronic illness, struggling to manage wild fluctuations in my energy levels, astrology has been transformational in my own life, as a tool for understanding how my energy field works—and for learning how to reclaim and embody all parts of the unique archetype that is me. Learning to read the Akashic Records only deepened that connection and self-remembering.

So, while social justice lawyer may be my “day job” (and one astrology has only deepened my soul-level connection to)—I’m passionate about sharing these ancient wisdom practices to help other lightworkers reconnect with who they are as souls; learn to embody their unique frequency; reclaim lost parts of themselves; and remember and align with their sacred contract and purpose in this life.

As someone who has often served as a bridge between worlds throughout my career as a lawyer and social justice advocate, I am particularly passionate about reading for clients who work in professional sectors and/or who are newer to working with astrology and other energy tools for self-knowledge and radical self-care—which is why I call my newsletter “Practical Woo.”

I look forward to supporting you in coming home to yourself. <3

XOXO,

Rebecca

My philosophy and approach.

While there’s no shortage of astrologers today peddling “cosmic paranoia” that scares people into worrying what a particular transit or retrograde will bring—I believe astrology should be empowering, as a tool for unlocking and learning to work with our light. For understanding our soul’s incarnated purpose. For making the unconscious, conscious to enable us to actively participate in our own soul growth and development.

Instead of traditional, personality-centered (or “exoteric”) astrology, the way I work with astrology is called esoteric—i.e. from the soul’s perspective. As an intuitive astrologer, I work with the ancient wisdom of astrology, tarot, and the Akashic Records to support lightworkers of all types in:

  • remembering and aligning with their incarnated purpose and soul contract;

  • tuning into their intuition, imagination, and expanding their field of vision;

  • unlocking the highest potential of their unique energy archetype;

  • attuning to "eonic consciousness" (awareness of cycles of time); and

  • engaging with astrology as a tool for radical self-care.

I also work with the Gene Keys as a tool for catalyzing shadow work—and have developed my own approach aligning the movements of the planets with the codes of consciousness they activate in the birth chart to turn every planetary transit into an opportunity for transmutation and ascension.

My current offerings include private 1:1 astrology and Akashic Records readings as well as customized mentorship containers for current clients interested in learning to work with astrology and the Akashic Records in their daily lives. (Not sure what's right for you? Feel free to reach out and we can chat.)

My training + influences.

While my approach to astrology is unique, it is primarily anchored in evolutionary and esoteric (aka soul-centered vs personality-centered/Sun sign) astrology. I work with the Porphyry, Koch, and whole house systems. As a heavily self-taught astrologer, I owe a great deal to Mark Jones, Emily Klintworth, Alice Bailey, Alan Oken, Dane Rudhyar, Richard Tarnas, Liz Greene, Howard Sasportas, Steven Forrest, Stephen Arroyo, Demetra George, Barbara Hand Clow, Melanie Reinhart, Jeffrey Wolf Green, and Chris Brennan (oh, and a little known astrologer named Carl Gustav Jung)—each of whose work has, in some way, influenced how I read charts. I am also grateful to Heather Ivany for her mentorship in the Akashic Records, Josette LeBlanc for mentoring and guiding me through a powerful DNA activation, and Ellen Mahloy for invaluable psychic development, angel communication, and reiki mentorship.

Certifications and formal training:

  • Two-year apprenticeship with astrologer and author Emily Klintworth.

  • Evolutionary Astrology foundational course with Mark Jones.

  • Two-year Psychosynthesis training with Mark Jones and Keith Hackwood.

  • Certified to read the Akashic Records by Heather Ivany.

  • Reiki with Angels - certified by Ellen Mahloy.

  • JD, order of the coif, from the University of Virginia School of Law.

  • BA in psychology, summa cum laude/Phi Beta Kappa, from Emory University.

  • Sagittarius Rising, Leo Sun, Aries Moon <3
